I live in Houston near a wooded area. Needless to say, bugs are a year-round problem. The original door seal cracked under the Texas sun and failed. Since then I have found many bed bugs in my home, both harmless and nuisance. Using insecticides and ultrasonic repellents has reduced pests, but not enough to keep my house completely bug-free. The box was very easy to open and came with instructions, buttons and a strip. Before installation it is recommended to clean the underside of the door with a mild detergent (I used 409 and a rag) and dry. Installation was easy - pun intended. Simply remove the red tape from the back of the strip, attach to the door, trim off the excess and insert the buttons. If you make a mistake, you can adjust the molding by removing the molding from the door and re-gluing (re-matching may peel the paint off the door). Thumbtacks are of course good for wooden doors, but not for metal doors. However, the strip adheres well to metal doors. I put on three strips when I was sleep deprived at 3am and was back in bed at 3:15am. I haven't seen creeping goosebumps since installing the strips. They were so affordable, easy to install, and effective! If you have a problem with a bug, you need to add this to your arsenal. These strips do not harm any living thing and also protect your home.
