I ordered this repair kit before a trip with my son. I never really have apartments, but on this second day trip, driving from Yosemite to Glacier Point, work was done to remove trees from a recent fire. Somehow we snagged a bolt from where the work was being done. I wasn't sure what to do as it still contained air I had just left. The next day, while driving on the freeway, the bolt came loose and the tire quickly lost air. Stopped and used this tire repair kit. This was the first time I've done this type of repair. We removed the wheel so we can easily reach the repair area, follow the instructions, and complete the repair. It seemed to work! We had a compressor to inflate and off we went. Total time from start to finish was less than 40 minutes. Our replacement part was the wrong size so it was our first choice. After a few hundred kilometers the tire started to lose some air. At the next gas station we filled up again, but heard a slight hiss. We removed the cap and put a new one in. The next day the tire pressure was slightly reduced again. We were at SLC at the time, so I was looking for a tire shop to do permanent repairs. Found Discount Tires and saw if they fix it. They said no because I "reassembled the tire by inserting a plug". B.S. Now they have lost any chance of getting future business from me. I called my tire mechanic in California and he said it could certainly be fixed. I figured I'd just have to put up with inflating the tire at every gas station until I got to a place where the repairs would be done honestly. While in the Discount Tires parking lot, I used the kit again to fit a second plug and see if that helps. I had nothing to lose. Our next destination was Moab, Utah. I was sure that I would find a tire dealer there who had experience with such repairs. We didn't lose any air pressure on this leg of the trip. The tire was still holding air the next cold morning. I arranged to take it to a tire shop in town but decided to wait and see. The tire held the pressure for the remainder of the 600+ mile ride and a good 3 hours of off-road riding. I'll fix it forever but it's been more than a week without a loss of pressure and I'm very satisfied. It was a large bolt in the tire, not a simple puncture. I am very excited about this repair kit. I'm so glad I took it with me on this trip.
