Although listed as a pressure sensor by the manufacturer, it functions as a level switch. This article is intended to fix an issue that they didn't mean to fix (based on a lot of online reviews) and I'm guessing they didn't want to retract it. So if you don't have any service issues, now you can change it yourself. Unfortunately there is no test sequence anywhere in your owner's manual to figure out what's wrong as all the codes aren't listed. This particular item won't let you switch to trial mode if it doesn't work. Test instructions for my Frigidaire DW were glued to the inside of the front panel. I only found it because I thought the control panel was the problem and removed it to replace it. Testing requires multiple steps and button presses at once, I doubt any service tech will show you that. This is a simple modification to prevent dirt from getting on the switch and causing it to fail. I personally stopped adding anything greasy to avoid problems in the future. I've been using DW every day since the switch and it works flawlessly.
