Update: Good radio, feature rich - Original review: Tx not working on my local repeater

UPDATE: Radio swap works! Not sure what was wrong with the old one, but the new one gets into the repeater with no problems. I suspect that a frequency deviation occurred during the transmission. Because of this I changed it to 4 runs. I'm only deducting a star because of two small things and because the first radio didn't work properly. Those points aside, the radio is great, offers a lot of flexibility and sounds good (according to the people who hosted me). First, the volume control rubs against the plastic sleeve of the microphone jacks. I had to cut the grommet so it wouldn't interfere with the volume control. Second, the output on the back of the radio has some hiss when I turn the volume up above 15-20%. Luckily I have a way to turn up the volume after the radio so I can keep it around 15% with no hiss. Working with support to troubleshoot but still no solution. I may have a defective unit but I have lost confidence in the software that works with this radio. For some reason I can transmit and receive on the correct frequency according to the display, but my Tx does not reach the repeater with the set PL tone. My MXT400 does this with no problem and I hear a polite tone as expected. I've checked SWR and power levels and they all look fine but still can't transmit. I'm at a loss. I asked for a replacement and will see if that solves the problems. If so, I'll update my review.
