First of all, this is not a PLC. This is a cam timer, when one time is up move on to the next. However, this device has two inputs that allow you to jump to a specific step. You can use the same switch for both inputs by programming (input 2) as a rising input and (input 3) as a falling input. I have used this block as chicken coop door control, I have used the street light control output as inputs. When it gets dark, input 2 goes high and the timer goes to step 1, which is a 20 minute delay (no outputs) until it gets dark. The timer advances to step 2 which turns on two relays closing the door. Next timer is 15 hours waiting for sunrise. (15 hours is longer than night time here, it feels like a break). When the sun rises, input 3 goes low and relay 1 turns on immediately to open the door. The next timer waits 15 hours (like the night timer, just one pause) for sunset, causing input 2 to go high. Overall this is a very good product and for simple things like chicken doors you can't beat the price!
