Very difficult to install replacing

I have installed many things and this was one of the worst. A 10 cent button spring doesn't stay there that easily - I converted another spring from something else. When screwing the inside and outside handles together you have to blindly connect the inside bolts to the connectors on the outside handle - you can't see them, you just have to keep fishing until you get lucky. Took forever. I have an old door and it has holes that are too big so there is a lot of play - maybe it would be easier if you had a newer door. I think it's a cheap design. The best spring that stays there costs a dollar or two more. A better mechanism to attach both sides would also cost more. I paid cheap due to installation issues. I used tape to secure the button/spring etc to keep it from falling off while trying to connect both sides. I also installed the bottom screw first - seems necessary. I used an old striking mechanism that was already in place and worked fine. So I installed it. But it was pain. Your experience may vary.
