Review on Precision Keyless Drill Chuck - JT33, 1/32 To 1/2 Inch, 0.002 Inch Accuracy by Devon Dober

Very surprised: my feedback

I didn't expect a whole lot for $30ish, but this seems surprisingly good. I put this on my Wen 8" press, which came with a standard keyed chuck. The stock chuck wasn't very strong and will come loose fairly easily, and the key doesn't seem to index very well. So, I figured I'd get a beefier keyless chuck for it, which is why I chose this.First impression is that this is a hefty chunk of steel. It weighs a lot, and I can imagine that the mass might even help the press power through burrs and things that will stop it right now. The action is really smooth and easy -- it doesn't feel like a lot of other cheap "precision thread" items you get off of amazon that are full of grit and manufacturing debris. The jaws and cuff move smoothly and overall it feels like a quality piece.I popped off my existing chuck and mounted this one. I spun up the press and . I swear this runs true-er than the stock chuck. The stock configuration was always a little sloppy, but I figured that was probably introduced by a lot of different sloppy things in the press. From looking at (and feeling) this chuck rotating, I actually wonder how much of the slop was just the stock chuck.I drilled through a couple of test pieces, which felt fine, but the real test will come when my next project requires some drilling. I have no doubt this will be an upgrade from the stock chuck, both in keyless experience as well as performance.
