I didn't expect a whole lot for $30ish, but this seems surprisingly good. I put this on my Wen 8" press, which came with a standard keyed chuck. The stock chuck wasn't very strong and will come loose fairly easily, and the key doesn't seem to index very well. I wanted to replace a wobbly chuck on my old drill press. This was easy to install and while I haven't calculated the run-out exactly. It's clearly better than what it was. . Good enough for the girls I go out with at any rate.

As many other reviewers have noted, this chuck is very smooth in its tightening/loosening, with no play in the jaws or the collar. Also, I was amazed at how absolutely perfectly the jaws mate with each other when the chuck is closed all the way. Not only is there zero clearance (meaning you can use something like a #80 drill bit,) but the jaws seem to be machined at their ENDS. I used this to replace my key chuck on drill press.I love using a hand chuck, hate reaching for the damn key all the time.luckily, it fit.but beware, not all drill presses are the same, so try to figure out your type first.very satisified, recommended.

This is great for drill press or for lathe tail stock.smooth action, reasonably accurate, good grip. It is exactly what you would expect when you say drill chuck, hand tightening, jt33.Keep in mind if space is at a premium this is longer than a keyed chuck.
