Too tight to compress --oops!
This basket is of the high quality you have come to expect from Lodge. However, it has a design flaw that they need to fix. The bridge between the tweezers prevents removal with normal force by squeezing the tweezers. It was supposed to be removable, at least for me, so I used a hacksaw to cut out the first part of the plastic wrap. It's still tough, but manageable. I may eventually remove the remaining mesh. This would remove the only place Lodge could put its name tag, so I don't expect any changes. Thank you Lodge anyway for a great basket.
