I used to use a regular hitch pin and a separate hitch wrench to keep my motorcycle pannier from wobbling. It was awkward having to use two things every time I wanted to use my stretcher. With this locking pin, I now only have one thing that can do both. I chose the XL because other reviewers have suggested that additional length would be required to clear the wider receiver mount on my 2005 Tacoma, but since everything is there I don't think it was necessary. In any case, once installed and tightened, the thing isn't going anywhere. It works by pressing the clutch firmly against the inside of the receiver. The side with the bolt head is the locked side. I am very impressed with how well it prevents the wearer from moving.
