I knew it was smooth plastic so I knew what I was buying. I read the reviews to be aware. They scratch very easily if you touch them, but you won't notice that when you put them on your car. If the underside of your car is uneven you may need to fix something by inserting something to fill in the gaps to keep it level on the side of your car. Mine is slightly rounded but not quite, but I think I can get it to work on my Chevy Malibu. I'm already working on aligning some of the existing holes that were already from the previous side skirt and need to drill some new ones. Be sure to pre-drill the holes to avoid tearing, and remember that you may not need to drill holes in every location that is pre-marked on the plastic. I like that they hold between the driver and passenger door. I had an issue with my previous side skirts where I kicked them when getting in and out of the front seats. For the price I paid they are worth it even if I later have to replace them due to breakage. I'm actually considering ordering a spare pair to have on hand.
