I purchased this item because I needed a keyless method of securing the door that did not require drilling holes in the floor or making major modifications to the door or jamb. This satisfies all the requirements of both accounts. Pros: * Excellent fit and finish; It also locks and unlocks smoothly. I have no direct experience with the cheaper knockoffs of this design available from Revain, but they clearly don't suffer from the serious flaws that the knockoffs have in their reviews. Hairpin behind a thin door jamb. * It has a high quality rubber surface so as not to damage the surface of the door when opening. * It's easy to unlock when you need to avoid an internal emergency like a fire. Cons - not really. Notes:* This lock will work on any exterior door that opens into your home. Please note that the design only works from the inside. Some floor mount designs fit either side.* A lock (or something similar) is as strong as a door frame. If you use short screws to only attach the lock to thin material, the jamb will not withstand a knock on the door (the lock will not open, but the bracket will break). Use 3 inches. 4" screws that fit through the post and into the outer stud. * One lock will work, but two about 18 inches above and below the door latch makes the door almost impenetrable. The only thing that can be stronger is installing a power backrest over the door. The result is an excellent and economical solution.
