I loved the look of the black Berlin Modisch Handel set to this day when my teenage daughter came home and couldn't get in because the thumb lever didn't work. When I got home and removed the grip set, I found that some of the hardware (cast aluminum?) inside the grip set had been cut off. Now I have a beautiful non-functional front door. And all in less than a month of use. Completely unacceptable!

I've tried installing them but the screw holes don't line up with the part of the latch that fits your door. It's a nice set and a great price, but you really, really need to put them in and you need to sand the holes a little to make it work. If you don't grind down the holes to make them bigger, you CAN fit them in there, but your doorknob won't budge. it's useless. mine is currently attached and "working" but I am unable to tighten the screws properly/fully because the doorknob mechanism is…

I'm a builder so you won't find a cheaper entrance lock with this look but it's not worth it. One of my boys took an hour to install it but it broke after two hours and we all vacuumed out of the house and we couldn't open the door so I had to call a locksmith to open the door for us and me go to the home depot and buy a new set of locks to install.
