Review on Gates 90K-38216: The Ultimate 🚘 Serpentine Belt Drive Kit for Optimal Performance by Francisco Duncan

This kit replaced a 2003 OEM Camry belt tensioner. This car has over 200,000 miles on the clock and the alternator has been changed several times. I bought a replacement alternator from Autozone with a lifetime warranty. Alternators have reliability issues, some fail after 5000 miles. The last time I changed the alternator, the belt tension snapped and part of the base bracket came loose. This gate replacement fits perfectly and costs a lot less than OEM parts. Gates parts appear to be softer metal. I would recommend using a 6 point socket and flex head ratchet when installing or removing a strap. It looks like the soft metal that makes up the Gates tensioner is easily damaged if you don't have a secure fit between the bushing and the tensioner.
