Although I think it will work for its intended purpose it has the following disadvantages 1) Very very strange gold colour. This is NOT brushed nickel. I don't know how to describe it, but it's a very bad combination with the polished brass plaque on my door. I don't think I've seen anything the same color as this item2) The corners are very sharp, no burrs or nicks, just cut to a sharp point. If you plan on turning it on and off every day, chances are you'll get scratched at some point. 3) This is a direct copy of another product called Nightlock. My guess is that Nightlock doesn't have a valid patent or they don't enforce it. It appears to be made in China. I sent it back and ordered Nightlock. I have to wait 10 days for nightlock while it was at night, also pay 10 dollars for shipping for nightlock. If NIghtlock had been sold through Prime I would not have ordered this fake from the start.
