I love the security it brings to our home, knowing that if someone tries to kick the door into that metal plate, they won't get in. Also very easy to install and looks great. I am so thankful for the peace of mind this security feature brings to my home.

As expected, fixing it to the floor was a little tedious, but the result was excellent. My wife definitely feels more confident since I installed this. When I'm working late or out of town, she just slides the bracket to block both sides of the door and feel more secure. I have them installed on all my double doors for added security.

This is Chinese Fake, not the real NightLock. The construction is really bad. There are really bad tool marks, gouges and sanding marks in many places. The finished product was scratched because they had packaged the screws to lay directly on the base plate. Steel looks cheap. I will come back for a refund and buy a real nightlock. Buyer Warning.

Installation is easy. The shaft is attached to the cement floor of the garage and protects the double doors. items included; bottom mounting plate, movable baffle, three screws and four heavy-duty plastic anchors (for cement floors). The dark bronze color is really black. The packaging was simple - a bubble wrap mailer, a paper envelope with the product inside. My copy was dented and slightly scratched. The envelope (not the shipping envelope) had a perforated area where the item was scratched.

UPDATE: I ordered a replacement and had the same issues. This is an inferior replacement for the famous NightLock brand barricade. It would probably do the job, but the $15 price difference doesn't make up for the poor quality. The ending is weak and illogical. If you look at my photos, they are very thin around the edges and have a matte finish. This is likely an application error, but may indicate a rework of the metal. I don't know how people are complaining about the quality of this product. The metal is very thick (1/8") and there weren't any sharp edges? If you install it correctly, WHAT'S THE MANUFACTURER ON YOU! It works great if you just follow the simple instructions. Although I think it will work for its intended purpose it has the following disadvantages 1) Very very strange gold colour. This is NOT brushed nickel. I don't know how to describe it, but it's a very bad combination with the polished brass plaque on my door.
