This is a very nice pasta maker for the KitchenAid stand mixer. We bought another pasta machine years ago and with this one it looks like cheap junk. Of course, a large part of your success in making pasta depends on getting good ingredients and using a good recipe. So make sure you buy good ingredients and then get a good recipe from someone you know or a food/cooking website you trust. Just start rolling at the thickest level (setting 1) and then work your way up to the finer settings from there. You'll be comfortable in minutes. And you'll be really good at it after cooking the noodles three or four times. Just make sure your dough isn't sticky. General. If your dough is sticky, you NEED to add more flour to the dough. I used to use KitchenAid brand pasta makers at my mom's and I find this 3-in-1 pasta maker to be just as good. And indeed, the design of this 3-in-1 pasta maker saves time and is much more convenient. Overall I think this is a great lure. And I honestly don't think you'll find a better aftermarket pasta hook. I would be surprised if there were. Especially since I find this pasta tool just as good as the one from KitchenAid.
