Review on Extra Yarn Mac Barnett Audiobook by Barbara Simmons

slip knitting is good for growing up and facts of life

If you are a knitter you should get this book. I first saw it at a local yarn store. It's about a little girl who, in the middle of winter, finds a box full of yarns of all colors and knits a sweater. When she finished she had some yarn left over so she knitted a sweater for her dog Mars. Annabelle ends up knitting sweaters for almost everyone in town, except for Mr. Crabtree, who just doesn't wear sweaters. Instead he got a hat. Word of Annabelle and her extra yarn spread, and the cocky Archduke tried to buy a box of Annabelle's yarn. Well, she turned down his offer. After being rejected, he hires robbers to steal the yarn box from her. However, the story ends well for Annabelle. My daughter loves this story and the illustrations by John Klassen are as good as ever. The text is simple and easy to read. This is an amazing bedtime story for all young children and parents.

Pros
