Review on WiFi router TP-LINK Archer AX73, black by Wiktor Marciniak ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Thought it would be better, but overall not bad.

They impose paid functions and install an application in order to get, for example, QoS settings that other routers have. That is, in order to use some of the functions, you need to install an application on your smartphone. They were artificially cut out of the web interface in order to force them to install their application. And other functions, on the contrary, are not in the application, and you still have to go to the web interface. Another part of the functions requires both an application and a paid subscription, which costs almost the same as the router itself.

Pros
  • Inexpensive, fast, not heated.
Cons
  • 1. No wireguard. In 2022! 2. Incorrectly processes OpenVPN configs (routes on the client cannot be registered for split tunneling, it ignores them). 3. No Amazon-over-HTTPS / Amazon-over-TLS, again, in 2022! And providers often interfere with Amazon traffic, replacing answers. 4. There is no QoS (as it were, but this function, which is basic for almost all routers, is hidden behind a subscription here - you will have to pay monthly for this function to be, this is a complete ahtung). There are no alternative firmware. Therefore, the functionality described above cannot be replaced, and bug fixes have to wait from the manufacturer. ate: Wi-Fi issues have been fixed, it seems. Smartphones stopped falling off. But other problems remain, so for now 3 stars.
