I needed hooks to hold several tools (shovels, rakes, pickaxes, etc.) and they definitely fit. I was able to hang multiple tools on each hook so I could hang them on an unused wall. I could hang five shovels on one hook. These hooks are well made from heavy gauge steel and didn't bend at all. I used small wood screws in place of the screws provided and attached them in 2 by 6s that went through the wall studs. They will be heavy, but they need to be properly anchored in the wood. I don't think anchoring it to the wall plate allows you to make full use of the hooks. They are more expensive than most hooks but you get good quality for the price.
