Unreliable and inconsistent

I have had this meter since October 2019. Many of the reviews I read at the time were strongly positive and encouraged me to make this purchase. I need a better quality gauge than the ubiquitous yellow digital gauges. The instrument comes with 2 sets of salts for the 3 point calibration and I used both. The calibration process is a bit like PITA, but I don't think I would mind as long as the gauge is reliable. the measured pH remained at 6.9. Then I added more drops. 6.9. Then I added more drops. for buffering. Nutrient formulas have previously shown a pH below 5.5, which required adding pH to adjust. Now I add nutrients, measure the pH and it's around 6.9. Then I lower the pH and get 6.9. Today, as a last straw, I recalibrated the meter. I added about 50mL of pH Down to less than 2 cups of RO and guess what the pH was? Others might have had better results, but the meter I was given didn't give me confidence and I stopped using it. For the price this worries me a bit and I think I'll go back to the old howler.
