This came first in decent packaging that didn't require a chainsaw and a couple of razor blades to open which I think is always a plus. The grips have a decent textured rubber grip that feels good in hand. They can be used with hoses up to an inch, which is more than I'll ever need. Pros: The textured rubber grip feels comfortable in your hands once you really start gripping. help maintain a snug fit Rounded clamp end so hoses won't be damaged Easy to remove Cons: Everything is riveted so hopefully it won't loosen over time Dog teeth could be better. Doesn't give a reassuring feeling that it's fully clamped. You have to squeeze really hard to make sure large hoses don't leak. Generally it does a good job of squeezing hoses. With larger ones, you really need to crank them, and even then they might not hold up well if you let go. This is due to the spacing between the teeth of the locking mechanism. If you need a firm grip, look into a vise.
