These Powerextra NiMH batteries are far superior to original B&D NiCd batteries! They have more mAh than the original B&D batteries and stay fully charged as soon as I remove them from the charger. After several years of using our B&D herbivore and blower, the old B&D nickel-cadmium batteries barely held a charge. Eating weed for two minutes wouldn't be enough! I figured our household would only need to buy one new set of garden tools as the cost of two new garden tools would be only slightly more than buying two replacement B&D brand 244760-00 batteries. Our garden tools now last significantly longer with B&D Powerextra 3500mAh spare batteries and the price at Revain was very reasonable for 2 batteries. Switching on/discharging and then recharging these batteries. Now I just charge them when I want to, making sure to remove them from the original little chargers once they feel warm to the touch (I've read that this indicates they're fully charged). I haven't had a 30 day non-use period yet, but I've also read that NiMH batteries should be drained if not used after 30 days. and I think that's Powerextra's way of being generous to its customers. One of the reasons I decided to try these batteries (in addition to so many positive reviews) is that Powerextra offers a 12 month guarantee against quality issues (visit their website if interested). So far, so good. It's only been 3 months so I thought I'd be a bit conservative and give this product 4 stars (instead of 5). If my experience is confirmed I will try to remember to edit my review and upgrade it to 5 stars. 1 more: These replacement batteries look a little different than my original B&D 244760-00 batteries. It doesn't seem to make any difference when installed in B&D original chargers and garden tools and the weed eater and blower work fine.
