Review on πŸš— Flowmaster Pro Series Muffler 5.00" Inlet/Outlet 20" - Top Performance for Your Vehicle by Mike Snedeker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why didn't I do this earlier?

Got this for my '07 LBZ Duramax. I used a non-silenced muffler with a 3" MBRP downpipe into a 4" mid pipe with a 5" tail and a big tip. It wasn't terrible but it was quite noisy when you got on it and the drone carried me. ...I was concerned about the noise level in the driveway because I didn't want to wake my child every morning. So I put a factory exhaust in for a month or two and it was awful. I finally got the chance to weld this muffler with larger pipes yesterday and I'm so glad I got it! At startup and at idle, the engine sound is now much quieter, even quieter than the stock front end and cockpit sound when idling At the rear end, the audio is slightly louder than the factory system. I think she is perfect. Now it sounds a lot quieter on the freeway, even my wife noticed it when we went for a walk last night. Now the fun part is that this combo keeps me quiet when I want to, but when you hit the volume pedal the noise level gets pretty aggressive. There are some resonant overtones in the cockpit on a full song, but not as bad as a straight whistle. I'm happy. These dampers were sold to me. The perforations on the inside are large enough that I don't have to worry about soot buildup, and the 5-inch internal design doesn't look like a limitation at all. All in all a great mod for my truck!
