I came across this PEMP Android device and it offered everything I was looking for. The installation didn't go too bad. I had to make some adjustments to get the right sound. Volume control could be better. When receiving a phone call and using bluetooth or mobile hotspot it can't get too loud, you have to go into the settings to adjust wheel controls. I first installed the PEMP add-on mod and then the ed. Revolution. I also added a rear camera with the highest PEMP resolution. Everything fell into place and ended up doing what I expected. It wasn't cheap, but it was a great upgrade from the old CCC idrive system, still retaining the original communications features. It's essentially an Android tablet that you use to add apps, stream movies, use navigation, etc. Looks like it's from the series and the inside looks more than 10 years younger. Some form of screen protector/anti-glare protection is required when wearing the passenger film. Overall I'm happy with it. This deserves serious consideration if, like me, you're trying to upgrade the entertainment unit in my old commuter BMW. I would also like to point out that the camera connector didn't fit like the other connectors (the only connector didn't fit exactly). I contacted the seller and they responded quickly and offered a small credit for the inconvenience of having to rewire the connection. It wasn't about what they would give me or do for me, it was that they were quick to respond and willing to work with me to make me a happy customer and honestly that's all we as consumers want . I took a chance because there were few reviews from buyers. Decent quality products, good communication with the seller and everything came on time. I would do it again.
