Review on Samsung BD D5700 Blu Ray Player Black by Anthony Watkins

I bought this player about a year ago to play DVDs and Netflix. Overall it was pretty decent, but I did notice that there are times when I turn on the player to play a DVD and there's no sound or everything freezes. I have to turn it off completely to work and when it does it works fine. Netflix had to buffer often, but it was ok. I then bought a Roku box for another TV much further away from the wifi router - never had an issue and never had re-buffering on that box. Still had problems with Netflix on this player. I then upgraded my internet speed with Verizon Fios and also replaced my WiFi router with a brand new one and the re-buffering almost seemed to go away, but one day out of the blue it stopped streaming Netflix altogether. It will download it, you can select a track, try to download it, but then it will ask me to select a different track or try again later. It's been like this for a month now. I've spent a lot of time on a Samsung phone with no success. Nothing works. They just tell me they will call me back in 24-48 hours. First they called, and when the answers ran out, they stopped calling. I've called the last 2 times without a return call. Now I read the reviews and find out that others have the same problem. We even went as far as replacing the HDMI cable with a brand new one and then taking the car to my parents house and plugging it in - they have Comcast and two WiFi routers in their house - we used two different Netflix accounts . Still the same problem. We've restarted the machine several times, we've disconnected all machines from Netflix, we've done everything they asked, but all they're doing is escalating the call further, now over eight times. I would not recommend this player if you intend to use the Netflix service on a regular basis. And since they don't seem to want to solve this problem, I have to decide between replacing the entire player or abandoning the player and adding a Roku box. I'll go shopping and keep researching!
