This worked like a regular fan, if you are in front of it, it blew cool air. It didn't change room temperature for me. Also, there are some design issues for me - the opening for the water/ice is pretty small if you have bigger hands, it was difficult to get the ice packs out of the small opening and the lid kept falling into the water bin. Adding water was challenging because the water bin opening is flat vertical so to get water in I had to tilt it forward, but because there is no way to see the fill line I had to put it down look at the front then tilt and repeat. -- I really wanted to like this, the units that require vents or windows are such a pain.
