A wooden or metal chair seat works best.
About 2 years ago we bought counterbalanced chairs to go with our dining table and the upholstered seats were part of the design. When the seal broke I bought these seals to help. Difficulty sitting in a chair and holding a pillow in place. Extra padding is welcome, but it could be better if there's a tie in each corner. You can do great with a regular chair with no padding or padding.
