Corrosion X is a great product and works as advertised; it's just as toxic as Dickens and should never be left on your skin. Because it is such a good rust preventative/remover I will continue to use it on any gun I keep for a long period of time. Corrosion X is thick and will (mostly) stay where you put it, but the product is for the INSIDE, not the outside of the gun. That being said, I always wear nitrile gloves when cleaning and preparing guns, and I will ensure a special wiping procedure is performed PRIOR to returning a Corrosion X treated gun to service. (Which is a little sad because, as I said, it actually works.) I think someone should have pointed out this high toxicity BEFORE I made the purchase. Why? Because at my age all the fine print on the label is really hard to read!
