Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Pop & Lock PL2300 Tailgate Lock in Black: Exclusive Compatibility with Factory Steel Handle by Jason Rosekrans

Doesn't fit nor work properly

First, I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge with a steel handle. I bought this item (PL2300) like you all to lock the back door. The item arrived quickly, but the factory packaging was crumpled. The shipping package was in excellent condition. I opened the parts box and saw that there was dirt on the silver metal element. Strange, I thought, since it had to be brand new. So I install it and remove all necessary parts from my truck. Install the lock yourself correctly on the handle and adjust it to the frame. This was followed by a piece of metal that is attached between the factory scissors and the tailgate. The protruding tabs prevent the scissors and handle from being screwed together, so that assembly without converting the new part is not possible. To do this, the tabs must be sewn. The second problem was that the same piece of metal I had to grind wasn't moving properly. If I separated the two pieces, the spring should have moved them together, but it didn't. So if I could install and unlock it, it wouldn't snap back into place unless I took it apart and put the pieces back together. So the wrong part. Didn't fit and work, BAD WORK. Problem 3: The manufacturer specifically excludes purchases from Revain (as well as eBay and Craigslist) from the warranty. Guess what? No guarantee. Therefore, I will never buy a product from this manufacturer again. Save your money and find something else because you won't be able to. Attention buyers!
