, I recently purchased a Sennheiser Game One gaming headset (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KK8ZLEC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a Sabrent USB Bought the adapter as it was available for purchase with the headset. There were many great reviews. It did not work. I have a Mac and Windows 10 on Bootcamp where I play some Windows only games like Overwatch and Destiny 2. There was decent sound when using a Sabrent USB with a headset, but the mic input was very weak like on macOS and Windows 10. I googled all sorts of fixes and even downloaded a volume booster that made my voice sound like crap. I carefully re-read the reviews and found one review that explains why these USB adapters no longer work. He explained that Sabrent lowered the voltage on their product and didn't seem to tell anyone about it or suggest a difference in the description. Now if you have a headset with a dynamic microphone, it can work because it doesn't require power. Anyway, I bought a Sennheiser PCV 05 combo audio adapter from Revain (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IM36VU0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00). ?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and when connected to macOS there was a HUGE world of difference and sounded amazing. Everything worked, including the microphone. When I restarted Windows 10 the headset sounded amazing but Windows 10 didn't recognize the mic and didn't recognize the headset at all. I had to use my Mac's built-in microphone to talk to people. I called Sennheiser directly. They explained that wiring is different on Mac and PC, and even though Windows 10 is installed on Mac, it still sees devices differently than Mac. They sent me their branded USB adapter for free as I already bought their headset and another branded adapter. Received it today and I am shocked at the difference. It works perfectly on both macOS and Windows 10. I had to turn down the volume on my headset and microphone as it was very loud. So the Sabrent USB adapter is no excuse for not working. I called Revain and got my money back as Sabrent does not have a return policy. Also, pay a little more by brand instead. Not sure if the good reviews were bought or because of the design of the previous product but again DO NOT BUY to save money. It is not worth.
