Not suitable for use with APRS or otherwise

I bought this sound card after reading DireWolf's setup guide with RPI and Baofeng UV-5R radio and having serious problems collecting and transmitting from packages (both require good sound quality) . Then I tried using this card to test it while playing on PC and the recording and playback was absolutely terrible. Interference could be heard and recording levels were very low. I then read more about these cards and also bought a version of the similar Syba card and opened both. Sabrent uses a…

Ideal for Linux in external sound cards

Plug and play for Linux Mint 18.1 and almost certainly for earlier versions. I laugh when I remember how much time I spent trying to get Realtek sound to work on my motherboard. All I needed was $6.99 to get this key. I'm using "Pulse Audio", so the volume script from the batch file goes like this: $ pactl set-sink-volume 9 -5% # reduces volume by 5%, also accepts +10%, 20dB, 50% or a multiplier, for example 1.1. The number 9 was obtained by typing "package list" and searching for "USB audio…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not sure

For those who reported only working in mono, I was disappointed to find the same thing. It seemed like it was only stereo if you don't fully insert the headphone jack, just pull it out. So. I bought two and it was on both occasions; I've tried different headphones, so I know it's a USB port and not headphones. Weirdly, I stumbled upon what I believe might be the solution: I fully inserted the headphone jack into the USB adapter BEFORE plugging the adapter into the computer. I heard a crack. I…

Good low budget adapter.

Used C Media HS100B, no crystals so sample rate cannot sync with other cards. The body is pretty solid. The latency test shows that this chip is very fast, only 10 ms.

Cons
  • Not the best

It's a waste of money. This is probably the worst thing I've ever bought from Revain - or maybe anywhere else. Never. I never leave such reviews. but this one definitely deserves it. It seems I'm not the only one with this problem as many people in the reviews state that they have the same problem. The microphone input may not even exist because it doesn't work. You have to shout into the mic to get a sound, and when you do it's extremely distorted and quiet. The sonic distortion is clearly due

Good for the price.

My laptop headphone jack broke so I bought this as a replacement. This works well, although you'll need to make sure your USB device is fully plugged in, as well as your headphones, otherwise you won't hear any sound. I feel like the connector on this USB is a bit loose due to my headphones falling out from time to time. Other than that, I don't feel like it changed the sound quality. Everything is just as loud and good. It's also easy to use, you just plug it into your laptop and you're done…

, I recently purchased a Sennheiser Game One gaming headset (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KK8ZLEC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a Sabrent USB Bought the adapter as it was available for purchase with the headset. There were many great reviews. It did not work. I have a Mac and Windows 10 on Bootcamp where I play some Windows only games like Overwatch and Destiny 2. There was decent sound when using a Sabrent USB with a headset, but the mic input was very weak…

TL;DR Plug in and Play

TL; DR (too long; unread) version. Bought to fix a broken audio port. The good one is a cheap and easy alternative/repair for a broken audio connector that will cost a few hundred dollars to fix. Simple and easy to use. Just plug it in and your computer will automatically install the necessary driver (takes less than 30 seconds) - Sound quality is comparable to the output from your regular audio port - The port uses USB Type-A; Stereo output jack and mono microphone input jack - No external…

My mic is working now

***UPDATE 2 FEBRUARY 2017 ***Added several comments to this review stating that the quality of the Sabrent External USB Stereo Adapter has declined. There have been reports of audio distortion when using the microphone. While I stand by my original review, I feel it is right to add these new insights as this review is rated as the best comment and most likely to be seen by future customers. *** EXODUS OCTOBER 25, 2015 *** I had a broken microphone port on my computer, so the Neewer® 2X 3.5mm…
