It doesn't have rubber outer edges like some filters. However, it fits perfectly in my 2007 Highlander Limited. For an $8 filter, that's great. Be careful when changing oil at oil points. As usual, Grease Monkey changed my oil and pulled out the filters to show me "how dirty they are". Then they didn't install the engine filter cover properly and it has been sucking air through the filter for quite some time now. I've learned my lesson. I will tell them not to touch ANY of my filters and carefully check them myself afterwards. They could do real harm with their incompetence.
