Has an effective range of approximately 15 feet when streaming music to or from the speaker. After 15-20 feet, the music will start jumping and breaking, and eventually the connection will be completely lost. wall or a window (with a direct view of the adapter). Even with nothing between the adapter and the source, the effective range was 15 to 20 feet. To make sure it wasn't a JBL Flip speaker, I connected the speaker to my iPhone via Bluetooth and had someone walk about 45 feet across the street and the music played and didn't skip a second and there was no sign of it that this was near the maximum range. The computer in question was one I built for my mother. It runs on Windows 7 64-bit and all drivers and firmware have been installed and/or updated for the StarTech Bluetooth adapter. If you want to use a bluetooth mouse/keyboard this might work (I'm not sure about the input lag as I only tested the speakers) but if you want to use it to connect a central speaker to your computer it can Do This When listening to music in other rooms, remember that it only has a fraction of the advertised effective range.
