Review on πŸš— CURT 31021: High-Quality Front Receiver Hitch for Chevrolet Blazer, S10, GMC Jimmy, Sonoma by Kyle Terry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

wow that was quick. well constructed and sturdy, made in the USA!

I assume it was shipped by Kurt and I'm in DC so it arrived two days after ordering with free economy shipping. I added a front receiver to my GMC Jimmy (already had a rear one). Wanted to mount my bike rack on the front of the car if I had a trailer in the back. There is also a hitch mounted winch and didn't feel like running cables all the way to the rear of the car to use it. In addition, the trailer is much easier to maneuver when it is in front of the vehicle. Installation took about 30 minutes. I cheated with a pneumatic tool, saved a few minutes with a wrench. The hardest part was figuring out where I put my torque wrench. It puts a little pressure on the plastic on the bumper when installing - just enough that you have to apply a little forward pressure to get the bolts to line up in the holes. . But I'm not just going to crash into an existing plastic bumper to fix it. From the outside it looks like 1/4 inch interference. Two bolts on each side dangle through the frame and thread into the recovery hooks. When I looked at the instructions I wasn't sure if I was going to lose these features, but after that it became clear. car inspection I could do. The other two bolts dangle through the plastic cover and into nuts welded to the frame. A bracket needs to be created for this, perhaps instead curt could offer washers with built in clips for the hood to snap into place once the receiver is installed.
