For your information, our Kwikset locks are 21 years old. I was pretty sure the smart key feature would work, but I'm happy to report that it worked great with our old keys. Setting up the lock took about a minute - really. And they are easier to assemble than original handle sets. The screws can be installed before attaching the inside handle. Very good. They even feel a little smoother when in operation. We replaced a few locks because the trim was scratched and worn. I was thinking of restoring the brass but that's a lot of work! Definitely I could try it on a pair but this replacement worked well with minimal investment.
