Words cannot describe how much I hate these handles/locks. Everything was easy to install. However, recoding so that one key can be used for both the handle and the deadbolt lock on all three doors was a nightmare that I still haven't fixed. Right now I can't even get into my house from the outside; I have to use the garage door. I'll just go to the hardware store and get some decent knobs/locks.

I've never installed a lock that was so easy to install and switch key that I didn't have to replace duplicate keys. The biggest problem I had was not reading the instructions because I thought I knew what to do. All I can say is READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! The two most difficult parts of replacing a lock are aligning the screws to properly secure the front and back of the lock and then going to the hardware store to make new keys. Kwikset solved both problems. That's great value for money!

For your information, our Kwikset locks are 21 years old. I was pretty sure the smart key feature would work, but I'm happy to report that it worked great with our old keys. Setting up the lock took about a minute - really. And they are easier to assemble than original handle sets. The screws can be installed before attaching the inside handle. Very good. I received the first handle with a rosette and a slightly damaged mounting plate. A mounting screw appeared to be bent and not quite aligned. I don't know if it was an assembly error or a return. I immediately ordered a second polo style pen which arrived the next day. The second handle looked like new and installed in the door without any problems. Will no longer buy from this seller. What I received was a refurbished, not a new door set and there was no quality control. The latch was supplied with 3 faceplates to fit various door configurations. None of the three fit the latch, they are clearly designed for a different type of latch. The door handles are held together and fixed in a latch with two machine screws. I bought this to replace my front door lock [below of course] as the original is around 28 years old. Everything was included. Installation wasn't easy. It took me a while as I couldn't get everything lined up correctly so I had to install and uninstall multiple times. In the end, however, I managed to install it as best I could. The problem I had at first was that closing the door didn't turn on the lock (if you turn the lock so the door closes when it's closed). I had to pull hard on the door
