I have a 2003 GMC 1500HD 2wd that I have fitted with a level kit and some 285s. I also installed KYB Mono Max shocks. The truck drove, well, like a truck. All fronts are fine and the truck was leveled by a competent person but it still had a slight dent. I had a bracket and a hole in the tie rod, but my truck didn't originally come with a damper. After installing it made a significant impression on me. It drives much smoother and feels less like an "old truck". Very happy. I recommend getting a reamer to clean out the hole in the tie rod. This helped me fully insert the bolt into the damper bolt. If you don't have it, reinstall it. This will help a lot. If you have one that isn't being worn, not sure if that makes a difference.
