Good heavy paper for wet media and texture

I have been interested in this magazine for a long time. Finally decided the price and time was right. The first one was damaged but Revane took great care of me and I am HAPPY. It's a very different paper than what I'm used to and that's why I hesitated, and it's just an atypical type of paper meant for mixed media. It's very structured. More than cold pressed. But the paper is surprisingly thick and designed to hold a lot of paint and wet environments of all kinds! I'd say the only thing I don't like is that it's not very pretty to draw on because it's textured, but I can still do it. I like the hot press for drawing. Never mind because if it's that big of a problem I can always grab another magazine of hot print paper. I also thought it was too small, but it's actually a great size. I can do beautiful abstracts and this is perfect for quirky faces. I like to use it upside down and make two sides vertical. It's pretty straight. I wish it was black instead of white, but it's a cool little magazine and I'm glad I got the choice. I'm gradually adding Wakley colors to my stash. I definitely recommend this for mixed media people. However, note that if you like smooth paper, you will not like this very uneven and textured paper. But it's thicker than standard magazines, so it's worth it. You can always redesign the pages with cardboard, primer, tape. But if you like textured layers, this paper will stand on its own.
