I ordered this shaker set to replace (once again) the set of salt and pepper shakers I have on my cooktop. Every other set I've bought has some sort of plastic in it, and if you leave them anywhere near the hob they're going to eventually crack, wear out, or melt from the heat that cooking inevitably builds up. Wow. This is exactly what I wanted, especially since the shaker lid can work with kosher salt. The screw caps are a snug fit, large enough that they don't need to be refilled often, and have a large handle so you can hold the oven while you're carrying it. mitten. Now, some people complain that when you pour in you can't tell the difference between salt and pepper. Oh God. I have a nose! I brought both to my nose and with one breath I knew which was the pepper! A real chef takes the time to evaluate their ingredients and not just pick them up and throw them away, right? At least they are in my kitchen. These shakers were beautifully packaged (incredibly secure) and well packaged. I'm sure I won't be changing them anytime soon as they will last a long time. I wish I had bought them beforehand. Excellent goods. If you're a chef looking for shakers to keep handy in a potentially hot spot (like your stovetop), then this is for you.
