A word on the negative reviews which state they are brittle, this is a specially engineered alloy designed to retain a higher hardness at higher temperatures. Higher hardness = less strength, think of the difference between glass and rubber. One is hard, the other heavy. The steel is machined for the perfect combination of hardness and strength. IF you're just looking for a great set for drilling pilot holes in wood they may not be for you as they won't bend like cheaper bits without breaking. I'm personally on the first one after drilling 50+ holes including through annealed (mild) high carbon steel. Pro tip: Use some drilling oil when drilling through anything thicker than 1/8 inch.
