Review on πŸ”§ Long-Necked Universal Heavy-Duty Spare Tire Carrier by Extreme Max 3005.5512 by Micheal Esquivel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Buy extra 5 inch screws!

Seems to be much more durable than the cheap one that came with my motorhome but. If you need something this strong, chances are your trailer bumper or frame is much larger than the 3.5" maximum frame capacity that standard bolts allow. Buy some 1/2 5" hex head bolts with washers and nuts at a hardware store. Drill 1/2 to widen the holes, just tap and install. I swapped my 15" spare wheel for a 20 -inch wheel and replaced a full size tire. to fit other wheels (yes my camper has big tires for some reason) that exceeded the carrying capacity of my wobbly stock mount. This mount seems much more solid and secure. Impressed by of durability but not impressed with the suggestion that you would need this for a 3.5 frame/bumper I would have paid an extra $10 to have the bolts lengthened a half inch.

Pros
  • Spare wheel holder
Cons
  • Hard to say
