Works as advertised

Fully testing a cable modem is difficult, you need a lab with some network equipment to test it. From my point of view I'm fine if I can get the speeds my ISP says and if the device doesn't crash for no apparent reason then I'm fine, which is the case here. I bought this to replace the CM3008 which is a model in the same family of devices that is rated for a slightly lower speed. The CM3008 is MUCH smaller compared to this unit here, and it looks like most of the body of the unit is actually empty, but I'm sure they had a reason to build more, even if a part the real estate is not really used . However, this is a fairly compact device. Installation is very easy, this time I didn't really go into the device UI, I just connected and called my ISP to activate, after a few minutes with them on the phone everything worked fine. With the price I paid and the fees they charge for their modem, the modem paid for itself in less than 6 months. I strongly recommend that you stop paying vendors the $10 or monthly fee to install their own hardware. That's $120 a year! For this price you can buy the best cable modem.
