Snow Storm Gail is coming to the east coast today and this is the first time I've had the opportunity to take advantage of it. Well, suffice it to say that he did his job. It protected my windshield from snow. The cover has tabs on either side that you attach to the front of each door with a little less than an inch wide elastic to slide over the side mirrors for added security. Overall it was easy to put on, easy. use and easy to shake and pack. It's waterproof (I think) as it wasn't wet at all after I brushed off the snow and quickly put it in my car as I was in a hurry to get there too. Personally I think this is a great purchase, especially if you live in a 4 season place it will definitely save you tons of time cleaning your windshield.
