THIS 8 PORT SWITCH WAS THE BEST SOLUTION TODAY. Tried to find KVM (Keyboard-usb/Video-vga/Mouse-usb) that was NOT causing video shift when switching to another PC. Configuration - 4 Lenovo PCs (same series), all running Windows 10. Although this switch has 8 ports, it allows for future expansion. THE ONLY THING MAKES THIS BETTER (note that RIJER is able to switch audio (speakers) from any PC as the monitor used has stereo speakers. I've attached photos of the manual (which can't be found anywhere online) which addresses some questions leaves open to the connection operations so let me make it easy for you The side with 8 blue ports that look like VGA connectors is actually IMPROVED for USB keyboard and mouse signals, TWO also has USB ports labeled USB -1 USB-2 used to connect YOUR USB keyboard and USB mice.VGA of your PC and with a single USB to any port on the back of your PC.USB cable to it and main switch on the front panel.Also with the MINI SELECTOR connected, you can still use the selector buttons on the main switch, once all the PCs are connected, select one of them and let the operating system (OS, ie Windows, etc.) monitor , detect the mouse and the keyboard. I have experienced that when the PC recognized the monitor, the PC chose a resolution that was MUCH LOWER than the monitor itself was capable of, so I had to go into EACH PC's resolution settings and adjust it to match the monitor's resolution. In my case I had to change them all to 1440x900. According to the specs on page 3, this works with resolutions up to 1920x1400, which I can't confirm at this time. There are TWO other USB ports installed on the front labeled USB3 USB4 which they currently have no idea how to use. I left no stars for tech support as they were not contacted. Perhaps AMAZON should change this field to Easy-Of-Installation. UPDATE 6/1/19, regarding the other 2 questionable USB ports, it appears that the switch has a built-in USB hub. Because of this, there is only 1 USB port for keyboard and mouse from each computer. So if you're brave enough, you can temporarily plug in a flash drive. Coarse file transfers affect keyboard and/or mouse response.
