Great for hobbies and home labs

My home lab had outgrown an old broken 4 port KVM and I needed something more. Nothing special, no hotkey switching and everything is displayed via VGA with a USB keyboard. It fit the bill perfectly and didn't break the bank in the process. It's a 1-U, with mounting lugs and small rubber feet. If you install it at the back of the rack, you can switch inputs with the remote control, the cable is just long enough. If you install it from the front, you can use the buttons on the device itself. No…

THIS IS THE REVIEW YOU WERE WAITING FOR RE RIJER 8 PORT USB KVM SWITCH

THIS 8 PORT SWITCH WAS THE BEST SOLUTION TODAY. Tried to find KVM (Keyboard-usb/Video-vga/Mouse-usb) that was NOT causing video shift when switching to another PC. Configuration - 4 Lenovo PCs (same series), all running Windows 10. Although this switch has 8 ports, it allows for future expansion. THE ONLY THING MAKES THIS BETTER (note that RIJER is able to switch audio (speakers) from any PC as the monitor used has stereo speakers. I've attached photos of the manual (which can't be found…

Beautiful simple 8-port switch that SCREAMS at you

A simple, cheap switch with no auto-scrolling or keyboard shortcuts. I like the remote control that I can put on the table while the switch under the table works. Remember, this thing beeps EVERY time you switch devices and it FAST becomes obsolete. This is not a normal beep. This is a screech from the depths of the abyss that will have you scratching your ears off your head. This forces you NOT to switch devices unless absolutely necessary, defeating the entire purpose of this device. I don't…

Perfect KVM after buzzer removed

This is an excellent and reasonably priced 8 port VGA KVM switch with a reasonably good 1920x1080 resolution. My only complaint is that I can't find a hotkey to turn off the beeping sound that is too loud every time you switch computers. The simple solution is to remove the piezo buzzer. The cover has 2 silver screws on each side and 2 black screws on the bottom. BUT there are also 6 retaining pins (for screwing in VGA cables) that you need to remove from the outside of the rear VGA ports…

  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability

Well I really liked it for a few months

From the start I really liked this KVM. Initially I only had one problem: the switch lowered the resolution of my monitor on all connected devices. Having an 8-port KVM was so helpful that I was willing to ignore it. However, after three months it stopped providing USB power on port 2. For a while I thought it was windows drivers until I noticed the mouse wouldn't light up and replaced another computer on port 2. After 90 days, I have an 8-port video switch and a 7-port keyboard and mouse…

Notebooks use an external VGA monitor as a monitor. second monitor. The MAC has been expanded to include the miniDP-VGA adapter. The MAC also uses an external PC keyboard and is physically located next to the PC keyboard, making the command and option keys easily…

The prettiest, simplest and cheapest KVM you can buy!

I work in IT, both professionally and outside of it. My home lab has a rack of 12 PCs, some running Linux, some running Windows. So I was looking for a simple KVM. I don't like complicated functions like OSD. I change my settings often. In no particular order, here are my impressions. 1) Oh it's cheap! 2) Oh, it's LITTLE. not even 1U. It's 0.5U.3) Plug it in, plug it in. 4) Works! to the console. Not bad, but annoying. 7) Windows boxes do not have the above problem. 8) It's a simple no-frills…
