Provides peace of mind

Great product. Like many others who have purchased this item, we have a washing machine on the top floor of our home. We have an old car that sounds like a SpaceX rocket that's going to take off every time we do laundry, so it's always bothered me that one day I might come home and see my house flood, and Recreate this scene from Jumanji where water is flowing down stairs and giant spiders are trying to kill a 10-year-old boy. I don't even have a son, which is even more concerning! Seriously, this product works well. Very easy to install. The seal is so delicate that when I touched it with my bare hands, the mere wetness of my fingers set off the alarm and shut off the pipes. I was also sweating profusely at the time thinking about Jumanji, but that's beside the point. The alarm will beep intermittently until you manually open the pipes from the control panel, which is good to know in case it ever goes off while we're gone. In addition, it has a backup power system that runs on 4 AA batteries, which is very handy in the event of a power outage. One thing to note, our washer dryer only had one plug (not the standard dual socket) so we had to get a multiple socket adapter before installing it. I just wanted to point this out because it was excruciating pulling out the machines and tweaking everything only to find we were missing something important. I just wanted to warn everyone to avoid this problem if you hire a plumber or other person to do the installation. All in all a great product. I made a note to check the system about every 3 months and test the strips and mechanism. If I ever run into any issues I will update this review accordingly.
