Review on Powerful CVR VP665 Vacuum Pump: A Must-Have for Superior Performance by Bobby Montoya

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The black anodizing is damaged and uses 3 wires but only comes with a 2 pin connector

After arguing back and forth about spending a lot more on the black anodizing I settled on the prettier black anodized one Look and regret it now it. Save your money and opt for an aluminum finish instead. The part is well packaged but the anodization is damaged in several places, there are several rough or machined areas on the aluminum under the anodization and other places where the anodization has been damaged and bare aluminum is visible. The metal can of the motor is painted black and poorly painted. The paint is damaged in two places and it looks like they missed the spot at the end. I probably wouldn't comment on the screws if that was the only issue, but since I'm disappointed to see all the other damage I'll comment on those as well. Those screws at the end are full of crap. I have yet to hook this up to the car, but from a visual standpoint I'm not happy at all after spending an extra $42 to make it look nice. All of this damage indicates poor quality control by the CVR. Regardless of looks, the company went to great lengths to provide a connector for power and ground, but not for the yellow ignition input. It's stupid and cheap. Provide either no plug or a proper 3 pin plug to keep it looking professional. However, given how poor this look compares to expensive black anodizing, I guess I shouldn't have expected to use a 3-pin connector for a 3-wire component.

Pros
  • Vacuum pumps
Cons
