This isn't the fanciest of food thermometers (the build quality and design seem rudimentary), but it might be one of the best because the numbers are big and simple to choose. Read without reading glasses. This is a huge benefit when you're juggling food - getting glasses to see the thermometer is a big problem. Also the size of the probe is perfect --- not too big and not too small. Other electronic food thermometers have tips that are too small and sharp. I'm worried about them breaking or not having enough surface area to measure properly. I'm not worried about this guy's tip - it's the perfect size: sharp enough to easily pierce food and big enough to feel like it's measuring the temperature accurately. The problem with this is that all the buttons on the back are small, don't feel firm and are the same size (only 3 buttons). All the companies that make these thermometers have to change their design to have a LARGE button to turn the unit on. No need to fiddle with other keys. Once you've chosen F or C, you don't want to change that. When the ON button is the same size as the button that changes settings like F or C, it's very annoying. I don't want the thermometer to accidentally read C when I think of F. Please make the buttons that are rarely used small, and the one button that needs to be pressed every time you use the thermometer - the ON button - is unmistakably touch. The simple fix is to make it bigger than the other buttons. That way I don't have to worry every time I accidentally hit F or C!
