This mount earns 5 stars for its performance. Accurately and easily quickly drills a series of holes for bolts. The reason for the only 4-star overall rating is due to a few minor annoyances. First of all, the drill must be cleaned of wood chips after each drill hole. If you don't do this, the wood shavings will jam the spring loading mechanism and prevent the drill bit from retracting. This also interferes with the depth gauge. The drill must retract and move freely for the self-centering and depth gauge to work. Also, you need to make sure the set screw that holds the spring tensioning mechanism is tightened well. It comes loose after a few holes, after which the drill comes loose and can be pulled out. The process of clearing chips from each hole actually lets you know when the bit is loose. This happened three times while drilling about 200 wells. These are minor issues and as long as you are aware of them, this tool works great and is highly recommended.
